How to make Xentry PassThru work for New Models (Euro5/6, W205, W213, W222)

Something good to help you to make Xentry PassThru on Windows 10 x64 support new Mercedes models (Euro5/6, W205, W213, W222). Done with VAS5054A PassThru Driver
Xentry PassThru needs to be installed on Windows x64 to support new models, such as Euro5/6, W205, W213, W222 … However, VAS5054A didn’t work on 64bits as passthru. There is 64bits device driver for VAS5054A but there is no PassThru driver working on 64bits. You may try Actia driver instead but this is a patched 32bits PassThru API files with 64bit device drivers working on Windows 10 x64. Xentry recognizes it and works with W205 (confirmed), etc.
WARNING: Use it on your own risk, only for test purpose.
What you need:
(1) VAS5054A Bluetooth hardware. (genuine and good clone… both ok)
(2) (option) VAS5054A EDIC_PDU_API 1.20.4x driver installation file. You can find it somewhere on this forum.
(3) (option) New firmware. The firmware included here is version 1.20.41 for better compatibility, not 1.20.42.
(4) (attached here)
(5) 64bit Windows 10
(6) (option) DC 12V power adapter, 2 jumper wires for temporary power.
Pre Installation:
(1) Install Xentry PassThru and do all patches.
(2) (option) Install EDIC_PDU_API 1_20_42 driver (or EDIC_PDU_API 1_20_41). It’s for installing .NET framework or VC++ redistribution files.
If you are going to do clean install on fresh Windows 10, you might want to install the EDIC_PDU driver first. It installs .NET framework, VC++ files, some EDIC DLLs on /Windows/System32 or SysWow64. Other files will be overwritten by the below manual installation.
(1) Copy “Program Files (x86)\Softing\*” to your HDD “C:\Program Files (x86)\Softing\*”
(2) Copy “Program Data\D-PDU API” to your HDD “C:\Program Data\D-PDU API”.
(3) Double click on “Softing_VAS5054A_PassThru_1_20_042.reg” and install it.
(4) Make a shortcut of “SftngCM.exe” on Desktop.
(5) Right click on “C:\Program Files (x86)\Softing\EdicDriver\win7\softingedic7_ntamd64.inf” and install.
(6) Connect the VAS5054A hardware using an USB cable. Connect it to a temporary power(12V DC adapter) or OBD-2 port.
(7) Check “Control Panel/Devices Manager/Softing…”. If not installed correctly, update the device driver manually.
(8) Make a shortcut of “EDICConfig.exe” on Desktop.
(9) (option) If you have newer version than EDIC_PDU_API 1_20_42 driver and genuine VAS 5054A hardware, you may install the API driver now.
Post Installation:
(1) Connect the VAS 5054a to a temporary power(12V DC adapter) or ODB-2 port.
(2) Run “SftngCM.exe” on desktop as administrator. Make a “C:\Temp” directory if not exists. This is for saving log files. If not exists, SftingCM.exe will cause error when doing test.
(3) Choose “VAS5054A” and type the serial number (maybe 0821xxxxx).
(4) Select “Test” and click on “Start Test”.
– RED dot : PC <-> VAS5054A does not communicate. Something wrong on your driver.
– YELLOW dot : PC <-> VAS5054A communicates.
– GREEN dot : PC <-> VAS5054A <-> Vehicle communicates.
(1) “.NET Framework 2.0/3.0/3.5” needs to be installed if not installed automatically. You can install it by selecting on “Control Panel/Programs and Features/Turn Windows features on or off/.NET Framework 3.5(includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0)”. You also need to install VC++ redistributions if not done yet. (MSVCR100.dll, mfc100.dll, … errors)

(2) Temporary power to VAS5054A for test purpose : Ground to either pin 4 or 5. 12V DC to pin 16.

(3) You can upgrade the EDICDriver in “Program Files (x86)\Softing\EDICDriver” if you have newer version. Update the device driver on control panel.

(4) If you installed newer version EDIC_PDU_API driver than 1.20.42, edit the *.reg and change the number 1_20_42 to your number (for example, “EDIC_D_PDU_API_1_20_042” to “EDIC_D_PDU_API_1_20_0XX”). After editing, double click on it and install it again.

(5) If your device has different serial number but SftngCM.exe doesn’t allow the change, edit the *.reg file with text editor, double click on it and install it again.

It is possible to install Professional Diagnostic Tools John Deere Service Advisor on your laptop, though the installation is really complicated. If you have a Lenovo Thinkpad laptop, the easiest way is to restore the main partition from the image of my computers’ c: drive. And every time i change my laptop, i just restore it.

Win7 installed and fully updated. It takes hours.

The image will not work on XP, but SA works fine. My suggestion, buy used Lenovo T400 or T500. it’s more or less 250 EURO in Europe. Install windows 7 and then can put my image. Takes 10 minutes and u have SA working.

Topic 2: How to get Nexiq china worked?
I spent a month doing research on this and i managed my Chinese Nexiq to work 90%. The thing is that Nexiq has only 2 channels while EDL has 3. The 3rd one is Powertrain and it is used very seldom. E.g. I reprogrammed all the controllers on 6690 premium except two, but found a way around it opening the pld file with pld editor and changing Powertrain channel to Vehicle (channel 1). Lots of machines don’t even have a 3rd Powetrain channel. Like all 5R; 6115R, 6125R, 7280R….. From my experience only the older machines have it and still can be programmed most of the time. Programming controllers is easy, but diagnostics is a bit annoying. Every time you establish the connection u have to remove the USB plug and plug it again for the readings to appear. Connection establishment is taking a long long time and you never see the Heavy Duty Diagnostic. Only all the other controllers. So all the time something doesn’t work. If you are prepared for this here is what you have to do:

a) Rewire the the cables as shown in the picture in my post here:
I switched places channel 1 with channel 2 (see the pic) with my Chinese version and now it works fine, probably it was possible to do it adjusting the software settings as mentioned above, but i tried a lot, and nothing helped. Now i can connect, tried with 6125R and 5070M. Works fine!!! Except one very important thingy. After i establish the connection, all the reading give the same meaningless number. Then, I discovered accidentally, I pull out the USB cable, get the message “Connection interrupted” I put it back in, get the message “Connection resumed” and wuolla, all the readings show up immediately.

b) You don’t have to change the firmware. Both will work pretty much the same but with different issues.

P.S. For diagnostics only, there is a subprogram of SA that works without any cable rewiring, it doesn’t have a Program Controller option, and you still need to reinsert the usb after connection has been established. You just need to select the right port (which is usually 1939ImplementAutoboud or 1939AppAutoboud depending on the machine) and model. If you have SA, you will find the software at c:\Program Files\Service ADVISOR\xvds\XJDET.exe
Just to let you know, after a year working like that, i bought another EDL (recommended by a folk in the forum, much much much more than the old one)

Trial apply it’s only 90 days

so, now, everything is clear.

In Lonsdor K518S, menus are divided into two parts:

free menus and subscribed menus.

Free menus are free for lifetime.
Subscribed menus can be used for free for 90 days.

You need to pay for them after the trial period. After the trial period, subscribed menus will not work properly if you don’t pay. And the menus will disappear after updating the device.
A. 365 days is a period and the price is USD600 per period. One year period starts from the day of the trial period finished.
B. Purchase menus with a dealer. You can use the menus normally and permanently after payment.
C. Menus which you purchase includes subscribed menus that have been released and that will have been released in one year period.
D. Subscribed menus beyond one year period requires extra payment.

after 90 days’ trial period, click check for updates in one key update, you can use subscribed menus for an extra 90-day period

This article I want to show you how to program new keys for BMW CAS4+ all key lost by CGDI BMW Programmer.Hope it helps!

Devices You Need?

CGDI BMW Programmer

CGDI Pro 9S12

CG-100 Prog


Step 1:Read CAS4+ Immobilizer Data

Remove CAS4+ module from vehicle


Disassemble cover and take out PCB


Run CG Pro software,and follow the software wire connection diagram to build connection between CG Pro 9S12 and CAS4+ module


Operate CG Pro software to read out and decrypt immo data,then save the data on your laptop

Note:Don’t forget to make backup before operation.

Step 2:CG-100 read ECU data

Run CG-100 software,and select “ECU”


Select “BMW E series”à” MEVD1724(N20)”


Then follow the software wire diagram to connect CG-100 to MEVD1724(N20) ECU


Click “Read EEPROM”


After reading ECU data successfully,save the ECU data file on your laptop.


CG-100 will show ISN and VIN


Note:CG-100 full version support this function.

Step 3:CGDI BMW Program Keys

Connect CGDI BMW to laptop and run CGDI BMW software and select “CAS4 Key Match”


Select “Load CAS Data”


Note select the immo data you save on step 1 to load


Then CGDI BMW software will show relevant information


Select the key position that need to be configured,then click “Generate dealer key”,and the select the way to input “ISN” code,here select “With the engine data,the next step is to load the engine data”


Now load the ISN file you saved in step 2


Input a blank key into CGDI BMW slot,and click “OK” to start programming
