GM TECH2’s contribution to the 1999 Corvette Coupe Bleed

1999 Corvette Coupe Bleed with GM TECH2: Very happy!

1999 Corvette Coupe: With brake hoses replaced with steel braid. Gravity bleeds. How to bleed with GM Tech2 Scanner successfully.

The 4 corners while I replaced the pipes.

1. Attached power bleed and install hoses on all 4 bleeds to reduce chance of brake fluid where I didn’t want!!!!

2. Attached tech followed someone else’s post on the steps (can’t remember who)

3. Powered on Tech 2. Tech 2 passes energy on self-test

4. Turn the ignition to the position, do not mark the engine

5. Main menu of open technology 2 The screen displays:
• F0 diagnostics
• F1 service programming system
• F2 View captured data
• Diagnosis of F3 GM F3 performance parts
• F4 Tool Options

6. F0 selected, diagnostics

7. Selected model year (2000)

8. Passenger car selected

9. F2 chassis selected

10. Selected product line (Y) “Establish communication” seen on screen

11. Screen displayed: ATTENTION: “ABS Braking is not available when ABS/TCS lights are illuminated” (Note: I had no ABS or TCS related codes and no lights on the board board)

12. Press the “Continue” key selection. The straightest touch of sweetness has been highlighted.

13. Screen reads: “Chassis”

• F0 ABS / TCS / MAGNASTEREER
• F1 RTD

14. Selected F0, ABS/TCS/MAGNASTEREER

15. The screen reads as follows:
• F0 DTCs
• F1 data display
• F2 special functions
• Snapshot F3
• F4 ID Information

16. Selected F2 special functions

17. The screen reads
• Automated F0 F0 test
• Solenoid F1 test
• TCS F2 test
• F4 TCS switching information
• F5 steering position sensor test

18. F0 automated test selected

19. The screen showed ready for testing and a soft key highlighted to continue.

20. Pressured Continue Soft Key

21. ABS Pump activated for a second or two, and the car beeped twice, so I know tech 2 is talking to the car.

22. Then I just followed the steps Tech 2 showed, like you followed the steps you can hear and feel the pump and actuators on the bike!!!!!!!
7. Told me I was done!!!!!

My catch !!!!!!! The fluid in my system was dark but didn’t look very contaminated, after the bleeding process I’m comfortable that my active manipulation was problem free!!!! (had no problems getting started, but never had to road test)

23. My opinion is a car that is subject to extreme conditions (hot and cold) can accumulate more condensation in the brake fluid thus rusting the EBCM parts ????

24. I bought the Clone Tech 2 for this function alone, have now used it for various things and so glad I bought it!
